Joint Replacement Specialist Dr Christopher Meckel

Every year close to 285,000 hip replacements and 600,000 knee replacements are performed in the United States. This number continues to increase as we head towards a massive change in our population demographics. By the year 2030 it is estimated that over 20% of our population will be 65 years of age or older and the rates of joint replacement are expected to double. This means millions more people will have painful arthritic joints in need of treatment.

I specialize in minimally invasive joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee. I perform the anterior approach for hip replacements and computer assisted surgery for both partial and total knee replacements. I work with a team of non-operative joint care specialists to help my patients who require rehabilitation instead of surgical intervention.

To meet these needs, I have developed a comprehensive joint replacement program for my patients who need hip and knee replacement surgery. I performed over 220 replacement surgeries in 2013 and this number continues to grow! This comprehensive program also allows me to safely perform many of these joint replacement surgeries on an outpatient basis. If your joint pain gets in the way of your favorite activities or if you are considering a joint replacement surgery, please give me a call to schedule a consultation at 831-648-7200.
